Feed My Sheep Day
Ponchatoula FUMC and The Well UMC joined together to serve meals at the Apotheca Food Bank in observance of “Feed My Sheep Day”.
They served 200 lunches that included hamburgers, chips, drinks and cookies.

Mission Statement: Through God’s Will, to develop a year round program of Mission & Outreach education so that the congregation will be better informed and more strongly committed to supporting the mission of The United Methodist Church. Mission Opportunities and Goals: Feeding the Hungry In reaching out for the needs of our community we have partnered with the Apotheca Food Pantry in Ponchatoula. Food and monetary donations can be dropped off at the church office on Mondays between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Love offering food donations will also be collected on the second Sunday of each month at the 8:30 a.m. & 10:45 a.m. service. Bed Nets vs. Mosquitoes Nothing But Nets is a global grass roots campaign to prevent malaria thru the purchase and Distribution of long – lasting insecticide treated mosquito nets. Malaria is a disease spread by Mosquitoes infects nearly 500 million people each year and kills more than one million of those infected and is the leading killer of Children in Africa. Nothing But Nets is supported by the United Methodist Church’s “Global Health Initiative”, one of the church’s Four Areas of Focus to eliminate diseases of poverty and improve health conditions for people in the United States and around the World. A donation of $10.00 can keep an entire family safe from malaria four up to four years. Through our Mission & Outreach Ministry we are going to assemble 25 flood buckets this year to be sent to UMCOR for distribution as needed. Flood buckets consist of a five gallon plastic pail filled with cleaning supplies with an average cost of $55.00. Below is a list of items needed to fill the buckets for those who wish to pick up items while doing their own shopping. Cash donations of any amount can be made to FUMC with the notation "UMCOR Flood Buckets" at 201 East Pine Street ( P .O. Box 545 ) Ponchatoula La. 70454 The money will be used to purchase items of which we are short after the collection. Download and print a copy of the donation form here.
